Iran’s President Rouhani postpones trip to Iraq over ‘security reasons’

In a statement obtained by Beyond The Levant, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has postponed his trip to Iraq over recent security issues and intelligence received which led to the decision.

Iranian sources added that “Rouhani was expected to stay in Iraq for two days to meet with Prime Minister al-Abadi and Ayatollah Sistani but has postponed for security precautions.” Rouhani is to appear in Pakistan today.
